OK, so maybe you know that I have been making some short films that have been in film festivals, and I haven not explored many of the genres. I want to make a short horror film a short dark comedy, a horror film that is a part of the new genre.
This 'horror' film, The Diner, is really beautiful for a horror film. The colors, the camera angles and the smudginess are inspiring to me.
Horror is not only a style of film in appearance, but a world of acting that is special in and of itself. If the acting is weak, the horror is less scary. But then again, bad acting is. horrific in and of itself!!
Since I have been making shorts under 30 mins long, I want to do something different, I watched two shorts by a Canadian director: The Door and 10-33. The acting in "The Door' was weak, but the end helped it alot. In the '10-33' the acting was quite good, and I was pleasantly surprised.
